Versen Lab · 001
it started as a game about staring at nothing.
you just played it. the camera only checks you're actually there: present, facing the screen. nothing about you leaves the machine. look away and it lets you go.
the game
hold the void's gaze
one rule: keep looking. drift and it reddens, you get a few seconds to come back before it ends. that's the whole thing.
- auto light/dark: too dark to find your face? the screen becomes the lamp. L to switch.
- your best stays on your device. no account, no feed.
- knobs if you want them: sensitivity, hard mode, minimal void.
the desktop app
then it grew teeth
same trick, aimed at my own worst habit. name a site and the only way in is to hold your gaze for a while first. a timed pass, enough friction to catch the impulse before you feed it.
- hard lock: nothing eases it. you stare it down.
- schedules: blocked only during the hours i pick.
- meditation: a locked, timed sit.
